“Em Memória Delas” (In Memory of Them) is a book inspired by an online biblical study conducted by Igreja Batista do Pinheiro in 2022. It features contributions from feminist theologians Odja Barros, Agnes Alencar, Priscilla Ribeiro, and the special presence of Reverend Ana Ester. The book reflects on women in the Bible, exploring their faith experiences and the historical contexts that shaped their stories.
Analyzing these characters also invites us to revisit our own worldview and question the narratives that have influenced our understanding of the Divine and of ourselves. The book’s approach draws from feminist hermeneutics, connecting biblical stories to social dynamics and addressing important themes such as subalternization and violence. As we engage with these narratives, we are challenged to reflect on the ongoing realities of brutality while imagining new ways of thinking about biblical women, our own lives, and the world we live in.

CONCEPT DESIGN
The project’s concept is anchored in the symbol of the window, representing memory and new perspectives. Windows are spaces of connection, allowing us to see other lives, to look within ourselves, and to observe the world around us. In the context of homes—often associated with everyday life and feminine presence—windows reflect the simplicity of the spaces where the Gospel was born, far from orthodox and hierarchical institutions. They symbolize the accessible and inclusive Divine, present in the margins, in the ordinary, and in the small realities of daily life. This perspective celebrates a God who can be found everywhere, by everyone, reaffirming the importance of the ordinary and the overlooked in our spiritual experiences.
